The body and mind massage blog
After receiving your massage treatment 'Healing Reactions’ may take place these are completely normal and show that your massage is working and your body is responding to the treatment.
These may include:
After your massage treatment you should:
Drink plenty of water
This helps to eliminate toxins and lactic acid build up developed during the massage treatment
Take it easy for the rest of the day, if you can you should have a nap to reset your body
A hot bath after your massage can relieve any aching and soreness that may develop after your treatment. Don't worry as this is short lived whilst the muscles begin to heal
Avoiding alcohol, smoking, caffeine and fizzy drinks will aid your massage in healing your body. Consuming any of these can slow the healing process and can add toxins to your body
Massages are recommended often, once per week or more. This is especially so for those with fast paced or stressful lives.
To maintain the results:
Take a warm bath
This will help to loosen up your muscles
Relax and de-stress
Try listening to relaxing music, burning essential oils etc.
Find time to exercise, both strength training and stretching
Exfoliate and moisturise
This will keep your skin in excellent condition
Stand up, walk around and stretch often. Especially if you spend a long time at a desk or computer
